Watching surfers ride the bore tide on the Turnagain Arm of the Cook Inlet south of Anchorage
Bore Ttde riders (it’s not easy)
Flight seeing with family friend Lena out of Anchorage
Knik Glacier north of Anchorage (near Palmer) from overflight
Colony Glacier near Knik Glacier
Part of the Alaskan Range from Hatcher Pass near Palmer, AK
First views of Denali (“The Great One” in Koyukon) from Hatcher Pass near Palmer, AK about 100 miles away
The first 5 days at Denali NP were like this – low visibility, cold and wet
But the fall colors were spectacular
Then day 6 dawned like this!
And it just got better all day
Denali just to the left of KJ
Some companions joined us along the way.
Best campsite yet in Fairbanks along the Chena river – complete with rainbow. Hoping to catch some northern lights before we leave on 9/8.
